Heroines have sudden love for negative roles

Posted: 27 Apr 2009 04:23 AM PDT

Every season there is a new disease spreading in Kodambakkam, and this season, it is heroines wanting to do vamp roles.

The vamp Neelambari in 'Padayappa' and Sangeetha in 'Uyir' are notable roles. Following this, many heroines have expressed a desire to do such vamp roles. Gone are the days when the ladies felt doing negative roles would damage their image.

Now heroines are ready to give their call sheet for negative roles. That's because rasikas easily remember the negative character roles. Smiling princess Sneha smiles not in 'Bhavani' and plays a negative role in Venkat Prabhu's ' Goa .'
Monica does a vamp role in Malayalam film 'Thandavam.' Speaking about it, Monica opines, "My role in 'Thandavam' is quite different. From being a good girl, I turn into a vamp. I would like to do such a role in Tamil too. I don't want to be obstinate that I will do only heroine roles. Even by doing negative roels, I would like to find a place in the hearts of rasikas."

With this film Suriya's success is soaring and he has risen to be one of the most bankable stars in Kollywood.
Suriya is working on 'Aadhavan' which is directed by K S Ravikumar and 'Singam' with Hari. The former is his 24th film and the latter is his 25th venture. Surely the actor has come a quarter mile in his career.

Charmi's no to Hindi films

Posted: 27 Apr 2009 03:56 AM PDT

Charmi, the actress who is familiar both in the Tamil and the Telugu film world, seems to be a class apart. While most actors and actresses have their dream careers set in Bollywood and work here only until they get a plum offer in Hindi, Charmi is found denying offers to work in Hindi as she says she is comfortable in Tollywood.
Confirming that she has received movie offers in Hindi and has decided against moving up there, she has created a stir in Tollywood. While many are condemning her decision to stay here, many have appreciated her guts to remain here, even while the situation isn't being rosy here. In fact, the actress has not had a hit in sometime, but says she is still clear that she wants to chart her career only in Telugu cinema as she has the confidence that she will strike gold here soon.
The actress who has also done a few films in Tamil, like 'Laadam', most recently says she has a few projects that are pending to get released in Telugu. As she anticipating them to be successful, she does not want to go elsewhere.
