Bhavana and Nithin – Tragic Love Story?
Posted: 31 Mar 2009 11:07 AM PDT
It's been more evident with Sneha and now Bhavana. Mollywood's cute looking made her debut in Tamil Cinema with 'Chittiram Pesuthadi' and later took on for more films.
Unfortunately, she was considered to be an unlucky actress. With no options left, she started up with her skin show formulas in both Tamil and Telugu films. As of now, the actress is getting through a deep affair with Nithin where they spend more times privately…
Bhavana says, 'I feel there isn't anything wrong if a boy and girl stays in the same place. Both of us are close friends and we have been sharing a good rapport'. But sources have revealed that both are involved in intimate love affair and their parents are dead against it.
Let's hope it doesn't turn to be a tragic love story…. A happy conclusion is what we love, isn't???
Movie Review 1977 – Unappealing on all terms
Posted: 31 Mar 2009 10:24 AM PDT
Banner: R.S.K. Pictures
Production: R. Sarath Kumar
Direction: G.N. Dinesh
Star-casts: Sarath Kumar, Farzana, Namitha, Jayasudha, Vivek, Rohit, Radha Ravi, Rajkotti and many others.
Music: Vidhyasagar
Post 'Pacchaikili Muthucharam', there hasn't been any big releases for Supreme Star. And here goes one more film of mediocre in his career. '1977- The History Rewritten' had big promos prior to film's release stating that it's a James Bond kind of movie in Tamil film history.
Maybe, lots of money has been shelled out to churn it out lavishly. But does it reach the audiences effectively? Definitely not, the director has confused in targeting the film for all centres, from multiplex to single screens of towns and villages. But over here, he terribly fails.
Rajashekar (Sarath Kumar) is worshipped nearly to God as hamlet in Southern Part of Tamil Nadu. His son Vetri (Sarath Kumar again) is a scientist is felicitated by President and returns to his hometown. But unexpectedly, Rajashekar who rushes to Chennai dies due to heart attack after rushing through airport. His son Vetri now makes his way to Malaysia to unravel the mystery only to get shocked that it wasn't a natural death, but his father was murdered. He goes through a newspaper published in 1977 where his father was mercilessly pinned as a criminal.
With the help of his lawyer (Namitha) and Malaysia's journalist (Farzana), he unravels the real culprit and proves of his father's innocence…
Dual roles aren't something new to Sarath Kumar and he has excelled with his best donning the father-son characterization. Especially, he has overwhelmed with good show on father's role with white beard and stylish looks. Farzana and Namitha have hardly performed and they are patently used for glamorous quotients. Vivek's comedy doesn't work to great extreme.
Dinesh Kumar should've penned yet more penned a gripping narration avoiding masala stuffs. One kind request to our director – If you're planning to make a Hollywood kind of flick, just focus on it and don't fail trying to blend it with worst commercial masala stuffs centering for 'B & C' Centres.

A Waywardly teenager, a youngster and an ageing gentleman – Suriya has done it all in his Vaaranam Aayiram. With an inexhaustible thirst for variety, he is ready for another date with the box office after the critically acclaimed Vaaranam Aayiram. Ayan is touted to be a high energy adrenaline rush experience with Suriya retaining his lately acquired six-pack hinting that there are as much action sequences as much there are romantic ones. And yes, if the promos are to be believed, Suriya drops his shirt flaunting his beefcake appearance.
Ayan has the all-fresh Tamanna playing Suriya's female lead whose slow and steady rise to stardom is stuff for fairy tales. Ayan will also catapult Tamanna's status into the big league and as a budding star; this movie is likely to become significant in her career.
And as far as the story goes, we do hear the usual clichés boasting on how the movie is different from the other movies. However, as a step ahead, here, director K V Anand declares that Ayan will rewrite the movie watching experience of Tamil viewers. "Ayan's theme is completely unexplored in Indian cinema and hence the movie will be an eye-opener of sorts," Anand was quoted as saying by the media. Besides, Suriya also revealed in a recent press meet that the Censor Board was uncertain in providing the movie's certificate. All this only add up to the already swelling expectations.
Suriya plays the role of a 25 year old living in the labyrinth called Triplicane. So the requirement obviously demanded him to speak the 'Chennai Sendamizh'. According to him, director K V Anand's mastery helped him attain fluency in the dialect.
Originally named Boomathiya Regai, the movie was later rechristened to Ayan, meaning the unbeatable, for want of a crisp title. Ayan is shot in diverse locations including the maze like streets of Triplicane, the lush green forests of Africa & Malaysia and the Skeleton Coast of Namibia. Suriya's electrifying action sequences are said to be one of the major attractions of the movie. Apart from Kanal Kannan, Franz Spilhaus, a stunt team that worked for many famous Hollywood movies has choreographed the stunt sequences in this film
Ayan also has Akashdeep Saigal debuting in Tamil in a negative role with Prabhu, Vivek and Karunas playing vital roles. Written by K V Anand and the noted writer Subha, Ayan is produced by AVM Productions and distributed by SUN Pictures.
Harris Jayaraj's music is already topping the charts with footage from the movie being telecast in television channels. The album has 6 songs to its credit.
Ayan is scheduled for release this weekend, April 3, 2009.
Anushka wants more Tamil films

"My 'Arundhathee' might be a blockbuster but I'm not inspired to do the same genre of films over and again. Also, I'm focusing on building my career in Tamil now," says the actress who has landed herself three roles with big heroes in Tamil.
The biggest of them all will be 'Vettaikkaran' in which she is paired with Vijay. The scene involving the hero and the heroine meeting for the first time in a railway station was shot recently, and those in the crew say it's one of the funniest introduction scenes ever.
Following 'Vettaikkaaran', Anushka will pair with Suriya in his next film, 'Singam'. The film, directed by Hari, should give her a break showcasing her as a village girl, as Hari often does. The movie will be Hari's third with Suriya, after 'Aaru' and 'Vel'.
And then, she has also signed to do a film with Karthi, titled 'Siruthai'. With so many films, Anushka is all set to make a mark in Tamil cinema.
